Jane Wilkinson has 12 years of international experience building comprehensive networks and strategies to help public and private actors tackle complex policy and investment challenges and achieve environmental and economic impact. Her track record includes defining and developing Australia’s global climate change policies and securing a AUD 600 million package to support climate action in developing countries, and establishing the Global innovation Lab for Climate Finance.
She is responsible for developing Cloudburst’s business development and funding strategies. Prior to joining Cloudburst, Jane played a senior leadership role in a highly-respected NGO, Climate Policy Initiative. At CPI, Jane set strategy and managed global teams in land use and climate finance work programs based. She founded CPI’s Indonesia Program in 2012, serving as Director until 2016 when she assumed leadership of CPI’s European climate finance operation based in London. In early 2017, Jane became the Head of Global Strategy and Business Development. In 2014, Jane also helped establish The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, which has since mobilized more than USD 600 million in energy and climate resilient projects.
Prior to joining CPI, Jane served the Australian government for eight years as a professional diplomat and policy expert. She lead analytic and negotiation teams on international policy, finance, markets, and trade issues. Among other things, Jane was responsible for developing the response to the climate financing challenge including through the design and delivery of Australia’s fast-start financing package, analytical inputs to the UNSG High Level Advisory Group on Climate Change Financing, and was also appointed Senior Adviser to the seminal Garnaut Review 2011 Update. She also served as a diplomat in Indonesia.
Jane has advised influencers from public and private spheres, including the Australian PM and Ministers, leaders in the Ministry of Finance in Indonesia, Unilever Corporation, and the G7 governments. She has also been a lead contributor on numerous reports including the Global Landscape of Climate Finance the Landscape of Public Climate Finance in Indonesia, and the Background Report for the G7 on Long-Term Climate Finance. Jane regularly speaks at high-profile events on land use and climate finance. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from Macquarie University.
